NOCO Creative Network
The Problem at Hand
Northern Colorado is home to over 400 arts organizations and entities.
But for artists, the creative ecosystem is:
Fragmented.
Artists operate across multiple platforms, organizations, and informal networks with little coordination or continuity.
Individually burdensome.
Most artists are managing the full weight of their practice alone (marketing, pricing, events, logistics) without consistent support or shared systems.
Misaligned.
Many existing structures aren’t built by working artists, which can create gaps between what’s offered and what’s actually needed day-to-day.
Lacking a unified voice.
There’s no clear way for artists to coordinate, share resources consistently, or advocate for common needs.
We’re not trying to add another platform to navigate.
We’re interested in what happens when artists start putting their heads together—building or connecting shared systems, reducing individual burden, and creating something that actually works in practice.
The Proposed Solution
The NOCO Creative Network hopes to function as a structured, artist-led support system that enables artists to:
- access existing knowledge and resources
- exchange time and skills
- collaborate on programming and events
- reduce the operational burden of working independently
The model is designed to be:
- collaborative (peer-driven rather than top-down)
- practical (focused on real, day-to-day needs)
- complementary (aligned with, not competing against, existing organizations)
What We're Testing
We’re starting small and testing a few core components:
- Flexible, shared creative practice space
- Skill sharing and mutual support between artists
- Structured collaboration and match-ups
- Clearer pathways to navigate opportunities and resources
- Artist-led classes and income opportunities
These aren’t final solutions, but they are starting points.
